the alcohol would ease the dull ache in his chest, but so far, no luck. The only thing drinking had done was make him even more depressed over his love life, or lack thereof. After taking another gulp of the now watered-down whiskey, he set the glass on his computer desk and ran his hands over the short hair on his head.
He’d decided to start growing his hair back, wanting Emma to have something to grab onto while he pleasured her - if he ever got the chance to see her again. It had been close to two weeks since Emma bolted from his house while he slept, and she hadn’t returned any of his calls or emails. To say his heart ached was like saying a kick in the nuts from a pro soccer player tickled. He was completely and utterly miserable. More than that, he was really starting to get worried about Emma.
The connection he felt with her while they made love - it was making love - had blown him away. He’d never, ever felt anything even close to the pure pleasure of being inside of her, moving with her, feeling her pussy clench around his cock while she came. Beyond the mind-blowing physical sensations, the emotional connection he felt when looking into her eyes and seeing the vulnerable beauty of her soul struck him on an entirely different level. She’d marked him so deep he didn’t think any woman could ever take her place. No, he knew no woman could ever even come close to Emma - his glorious and oh-so-emotionally-damaged Mistress.
He was desperate to talk to her, to know that she was all right, which led him to being one mouse click away from going way the fuck over the line and invading her privacy. Yeah, what he was contemplating was probably better than camping outside of her apartment and hanging out in the parking lot until he saw her, or hiding in the bushes and watching her with binoculars through her window, but not by much. Even with all he’d had to drink, his guilt still ate at him. Not that this was his first invasion of her privacy this week. He’d hacked into the computer system at Kiss of Blue yesterday to see if Emma had exchanged any emails with Moira, and she had. What he’d read made him feel like a total dick, yet he couldn’t deny that a selfish part of him was happy Emma had canceled all of her appointments last week and most of this week, pleading that she was sick. Moira hadn’t bought Emma’s excuses and neither did Ryan.
In his heart of hearts, he knew Emma was canceling because she’d had sex with him and because she had feelings for him. While he was happy about that, he wasn’t happy about how much it was disturbing her life. There was no way in hell she’d ever see him again, not when it was costing her the money she so desperately needed to help her parents out, especially if her dating him resulted in her inability to work. Guilt ate at him as he glanced back at his computer screen, staring at the monitor and hating himself for doing what he was about to do, but unable to stop himself as he clicked the button to open his link to the Kiss of Blue security cameras.
He had to see her, had to know she was all right, because if she wasn’t, he was showing up at her door tomorrow morning and he was not going away until he made sure she was okay.
Emma was seeing a client tonight and he had to watch, had to know what would happen even though he knew this was so fucking wrong, but with all the whiskey flowing through him he found it easier and easier to justify his actions.
He’d hacked into the security system at her work and installed a back door into the program that would allow him to access the video surveillance system at Kiss of Blue. He watched Emma come in and exchange a brief greeting with Tanya before disappearing into the office area of the dungeon which had no security cameras, not really giving him a chance to see her face or figure out if she was okay. Or at least that was his excuse for why he continued to wait for Emma to reappear on his screen.
