another sip of her drink. “I actually want to go to Paris one day. Eat some great food, see the beautiful landmarks, and honestly, I really want to put a lock on that famous bridge. But with everything going on in my life and my projects…that just doesn’t seem possible right now. I really want to go while I’m still young enough to appreciate it, though. I don’t want to be some old woman who can barely move, walking around Paris and looking at all the young couples making out. I’d officially be dubbed that creepy old woman.”
“I’ve been to Paris before. A couple of times, actually, but it was on business so I never really got the chance to experience all of its beauty. Although from what I could see it was quite amazing. I spent most of my time in meetings or in the hotel, preparing for those meetings. But I can tell you the food is very nice. Couldn’t tell you what I ate, though—it was nothing that I could understand.”
“You went to Paris and didn’t even bother to look around?” she asked with wide eyes. “What, are you crazy? I would’ve killed to be in your shoes. Hello, it’s freaking Paris.”
“I told you it was for business. I really didn’t have the time.”
“Could’ve taken an extra couple of days and see the sights. I know I would’ve. I probably would’ve taken an extra week there just to enjoy the views. The Internet makes them look so gorgeous; I know that they have to be even better in person.”
I smile. “Yes, well, all work no play. I know you know how that is since you’re the one who brought it up.”
“Makes you a pretty dull man, huh?” she asks as she winks at me. “No, but I do know how it is and it can really seem dull. Especially to people who don’t understand your priorities in life.”
The alcohol from her mouth smells sensual under my nose as I lean closer to her. “I wouldn’t say that I’m dull at all.”
“Oh really? Care to prove me wrong?” she asks with a smile.
“Your place or mine?” I ask with a raised brow.
An opportunity has presented itself, an opportunity I am very much going to take.
There is no way I am passing up being with this gorgeous woman.
“Mine. Now let’s go,” she says as she jumps up from the stool.
I pay the bill and we both head out the bar.
I know I was going to enjoy this moment more than I was supposed to, but I really don’t care at this point.
Carpe diem.
Chapter Three
Tara
I fumble around in my purse for my keys until I find them, then glance back at the man behind me.
I can’t believe that I’m going to do something like this. This is so unlike me.
This is so… wild.
Totally unlike me.
All my friends think it is fine to have one-night stands but I just couldn’t get past the idea. Until I met Mr. McSexy behind me!
And he seems intelligent, unlike the other jerks that I usually run into.
Swinging open the door to my apartment, I hit the light switch. It’s too bright for my eyes so I quickly turn them off and turn on the lamp on the end table instead. I feel McSexy behind me and turn to face him.
“You know, you’re one scorching hot guy,” I say as I take him in. That must be the drinks talking because I am usually not that confident.
He stands in front of me and pulls my face toward him. “And you’re one devilishly hot woman.”
His lips press against mine, then I feel his tongue teasing the edges of my lips. I throw my arms around his neck and embrace his passionate kiss. The kiss is electrifying. The chemistry is incredible.
It is so erotic, setting my body on fire.
He pulls away and looks into my eyes. The lust in his eyes is strong.
“I want you,” I say as I slide down the straps to my dress and let it fall on the floor. I’ve never been happier about my choice in clothes than I am today.
His eyes dance over my body, taking in every inch of it. He smiles as he takes my hand,
