location, never ceased to amaze him.  If it weren’t for business he’d avoid the club all together.  He’d just walked past the bouncer when he was approached by a brunette in a short dress and hooker heels.
‘Hi I’m Stacey… Wow are your eyes real?’
He let out a frustrated breath and Ty snorted in amusement.
                  ‘Not interested.’
The woman blushed and he strode past her towards the back room.  Ty reached the office first and as he was opening the door, Hawk noticed Dante Hannam and his friends surrounded by women in the corner of the club.  Dante caught Hawk’s eye and nodded a greeting.  Hawk nodded back but what he really wanted to do was bang his own head against the wall.  For as long as he could remember, Dante had been a thorn in his side.  The kid thought he was untouchable, just because he was the son of a boss.
Their fathers were allied bosses and close friends, and even as they’d been growing up, Dante had always pushed to see how much he could get away with, not caring who he hurt.  Since he’d started clubbing, way before the legal age limit, the number of catfights Mason soldiers had had to break up because of him just pissed Hawk right off.  But it wasn’t just catfights the soldiers had to deal with; Dante would start brawls with senior soldiers from other Families that always ended in trashed nightclubs and ambulances.  The running feud between him and Nik Romanov was particularly nasty.  On top of all that, it was common knowledge that Dante was jealous of his older brothers, which made him volatile and dangerous.  The kid may have thought he hid it well, but it was anything but a secret.  Still, it wasn’t Hawk’s problem.
He entered the club manager’s office with Ty and closed the door.  Another of his soldiers was inside, holding a young man down in a chair.  Bags of pills had been thrown on the desk and the troublemaker had a black eye and a ripped collar.  He was sneering and throwing names around but when he saw Hawk he froze.
‘Do you know who I am?’
Hawk’s voice was soft but his stare was cold.  He hated these situations, they never ended well and they caused delays in his schedule.
                  ‘Yes Captain.’
The response was broken.  Hawk strode over to the desk and picked up a bag of pills before smashing his fist down, turning the pills to dust.
‘What were you doing dealing unauthorised drugs in my club?’
‘I want to join your Family.’
The words came out of his mouth in such a rush that it took Hawk a moment to process what he’d said.  Ty and the soldier started laughing and Hawk snorted.  He shook his head and asked the young man for his name and age.  A few stuttered sentences later, he found out that Luke was nineteen.  He made a mental note to find out which of his soldiers had let a minor into their club and make him pay.  But first, it was time to make Luke somebody else’s problem.
‘Dealing unauthorised drugs in a Family club is how you get yourself killed.  I’m gonna let you off with a warning this time but if I catch you in any of my clubs again, I’ll kill you.’
With nothing left to say, he turned to leave the room but Luke found his tongue.
‘Can I still join your Family?’
Hawk turned back and cocked his head in exaggerated thoughtfulness, pissed off at the teen’s arrogance and lack of apology.
‘Why should I consider you for my Family?’
‘I’m a hard worker and a quick learner, I’ll do anything
