out the door before she could be stopped.
“Stop her!” Bianca yelled at anyone within hearing distance. Ducking under his raised arm, she took off after the kitten .
Please don’t open the door, please don’t anyone open the door.
She pleaded silently as she ran towards the door of the stairwell. She watched as if in slow-motion the door opened and just as Sunshine went to make her escape, she screeched and hissed, jumping into the air almost in a flipping motion and ran back towards the apartment door.
As the little ball of fur ran between Bianca’s legs, she looked up just in time to see a much larger and ganglier animal come barreling down the hall towards her.  Before she had a chance to move out of the path, she felt her feet leaving the floor as she was pulled up and out of danger.
“What..?” Turning her head swiftly , her lips were only an inch away from her rescuers.  His heated breath bore down onto her lips, and for a moment she almost lost herself.  “What are you doing?! Let me down!” Looking into his eyes, she couldn’t believe it, he was laughing at her. She could see it in his eyes. She could feel her anger building as he continued to hold her pressed against his chest.  Swiftly, she pulled her foot back and struck his shin as hard as she could.
“Ouch…” Colby yelled, letting loose of his hold on her. “What the hell was that for? See if I come to your assistance again! Next time, he can have your ass for lunch.”
“Assistance! You call letting my cat out of my apartment to be scared within an inch of her life…Oh my god, Sunshine!”  Remembering why she was in the hall to start with , she turned and sprinted back to her apartment, only to abruptly stop at sight that greeted her.  There on her white couch lay the offender and the victim.  Curled up together like they were the best of friends as Sunshine swatted her paw playfully at the tail of the intruder.
“It looks like your ball of fur knows a good guy when she s ees one.”
“ Yeah, well that leaves a lot to be seen.”  Now that her precious Sunshine was okay, she wondered why the tension was still so tight. “I assume he is with you?”
“You would assume right.  Meet Brutus.” Hearing his name, the tan boxer raised his ears but didn’t bother to open his eyes. “I really am sorry for the way he made his entrance, but really you have to admit it wasn’t all his fault.”
“That’s true, I guess it was yours.  You still haven’t said what you were knocking on my door for.”
“The noise.  I was going to apologize for the noise.  I’m moving in next door and one of the guys dropped a box.” Colby decided to ignore the accusation and motioned to the guys standing in the door of his apartment. “I promise we will be more careful to not disturb you.”
Great not only am I getting a neighbor , but it has to be this obnoxious, over-bearing, in-considerate, drop-dead gorgeous, mouth watering smelling, asshole. Stop it Bianca, you’re not looking for a relationship.  Who’s talking about a relationship?
Shaking her head to stop the voices arguing, she stepped away from him taking a deep breath.  She wrapped her arms around her waist only to feel the soft silk of her clothing and realized she was still wearing her pajamas.  Her face heated as she realized which pajamas she was wearing.  They couldn’t have just been her old flannel ones.  No, these were the sexy, silk, green ones that her best friend had talked her into buying at their last trip to Victoria Secrets.  Telling her how the color brought out the green of her eyes and the cut of the camisole made her breasts seem larger than they were and the short shorts showed off just enough leg to make a man wonder what else was there.
                  With that
