scar on his jaw to prove it.
Jason slammed the other shot, his eyes beginning to blur. “I’ve had a shit day, and I don’t need you to make me feel worse.”
“You went to see her again, didn’t you?” When Jason didn’t answer, his lips twisted down in a frown. “Man, I’ve told you a thousand times. Why do you keep torturing yourself like this? She’s with him now. The best thing you can do is move on, and if life brings you back together then so be it. Are you going to waste your best years chasing after a woman who doesn’t want you?”
Jason grabbed Lu by the scruff of his shirt. “You don’t know what you are talking about.”
“See man, this girl has got you all kinds of messed up.” He looked down at Jason’s hands holding him not doing anything to get away. “Since she came to this town all you think of is Isabel. It’s about time you think more about you and what you want.”
“But what I want is her.” Jason let go of his friend’s shirt, the threat no longer meaningful.
Lu shrugged his shoulders. “Sometimes to get what you want you have to get what you need.” His eyes flicked behind Jason’s shoulder, and a broad smile filled his face. “And what I think you need is a nice night out with women who actually wants you.”
Jason opened his mouth to protest, but Lu beat him to it.
“Now hear me out. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. This is just hanging out with a couple of beautiful women who happen to adore you.” He shrugged, trying to be nonchalant. “And if something would happen to happen, not that it has to, all the better.”
Reluctant to admit he needed a distraction from all things Isabel, Jason growled and crossed his arms.
“Fine. Where are these women you speak of?”
Lu’s grin widened, and he spun Jason around to point at the corner of the bar where two matching blonde heads bent close together. The bodies that went with those heads he knew belonged to twin sisters, who had matching blue eyes and wandering hands. He’d had to untangle himself a time or two from their clutches.
“The Trainer sisters?” He looked over his shoulder, raising an eyebrow at his friend. “Really?”
“It’ll be fine.” Lu gave him a little shove off his stool. “Nothing has to happen if you don’t want it to. But at least you can relax in knowing they are a sure thing.”
“Sure thing, my ass,” Jason grumbled but let himself be steered over to the table where the blonde heads had popped up and began to giggle and flirt at his approach.
He should have just gone home.

Chapter 4
    Isabel
By the time she arrived home it was well after dark and her mood had not improved. The house was quiet, the staff had all but retired for the night. When Vincent was there it would have still been bustling with life, but with it only being Isabel, things were a bit more lax.
Not that she minded, she actually preferred to be left to her own devices. Though, it was still a bit odd to be waited on hand and foot. Some nights, like tonight, were nice not to have to worry about finding her own dinner.
Making her way to the kitchen, she peeked into the fridge to see what was available. There were multiple containers full of leftover food from previous days. Lasagna, pasta, meat and potatoes. If there was one thing the chef was good at it was making more than enough food to go around and fattening enough that Isabel had to be careful how much she ate or she would blow up like a balloon.
Grabbing a container of last night’s dinner, she popped it in the microwave and browsed through her selection of books she carted in. Reading over the back of several different ones, she was beginning to see a certain trend. Every book featured a hero who was arrogant, dark haired, and a bad boy.
Throwing her books down, annoyed at how obvious she was, she grabbed her food out of the microwave, fished out a fork and made a last minute decision to tuck one of said books under her
