hers.
    ‘I don’t want games.’
‘With me, there’s no safe words, no silly little crimes so you can be punished like a naughty child. I don’t know what antics you got up to with Nikos, but half-hearted submission is really not my style.’ His eyes narrowed. ‘With me, it’s all or nothing.’
Heat seared through her veins and her knees turned watery. ‘Go on ...’
‘If you want me to take you to a place where you cry with ecstasy, feel like every nerve in your body has exploded, then you have to hand yourself over to me totally, you have to trust me to take you there and bring you back ... even though you hardly know me.’
‘I know enough.’ Blood was rushing between her legs. She wanted to cry with ecstasy, she wanted to feel like every nerve in her body had exploded. She wanted to relinquish control – to Beast.
‘And it hasn’t put you off? What you’ve heard about me, from Belle?’
‘Far from it. It’s just made me all the more curious to see if we are compatible – I think we might be.’
The side of his mouth twitched; it was as close to smiling as he ever got. ‘In that case, little lady, when we go in to The Basement, you’ll be all mine, every last sumptuous inch of you.’ He pushed open the door, curled a hand around her waist and exerted a firm pressure in the small of her back.
‘But ... but what about your friend, aren’t you going to say goodbye?’ Rapunzel nodded over his shoulder at the woodcutter. She needed to speak to Cinderella too, tell her to go find a prince to sign her into The Basement or head upstairs to Belle and Tink.
    ‘He’s coming in.’
‘But he’s a woodcutter and you can only sign in one guest.’
‘Woodcutter? No, that’s Prince Tate of Newgale Kingdom, he’s on a gap year chopping trees in the Emerald Forest, some new venture the King dreamed up to “put him in touch with reality”. Not that it’s working, the way he’s been drooling over a certain young lady in a red cape trotting through the forest to see her grandmother each day is quite nauseating.’ Beast paused. ‘However ... the way he’s chatting to your mate makes me think he’s finally stopped lusting after the little minx.’ He pulled down his mouth and nodded slowly. ‘Yeah, your sweet as sugar friend will do him the world of good – help him forget about that little prick-tease leading him on.’
Rapunzel felt a swell of panic in her lungs at the thought of Prince Tate unleashing his pent up lust on Cinderella. ‘But, but don’t you know who she is?’
Prince Tate leant down to whisper something in Cinderella’s ear. Cinderella giggled and placed her hand on her bouncing chest. Beast frowned and gave a tiny shake of his head. ‘No, should I?’
‘That’s Cinderella and this is her hen night; it’s the big wedding at Marble Cathedral tomorrow, she’s marrying Prince Charming. The newspapers have been full of it for weeks, the flowers, the cake, the food ... you must have seen it.’
‘Oh, yes, of course, yes, in fact I’ve got an invite somewhere.’ He rubbed his hand over his scratchy cheek. ‘Mmm, Tate won’t want to upset Charming, their fathers are good friends, it could disrupt trading agreements.’ His hand fell from her back and he took a step through The Basement door away from her. ‘I’m sorry, Rapunzel, but this, you and her, are more trouble than you’re worth to me and Tate.’
‘No, no, it’s fine. Listen, Cinderella is ridiculously naïve but Tate could be perfect for providing Prince Charming with what he doesn’t even know he needs.’
Beast tipped his head. ‘Go on ...’
‘If you speak to Tate, explain the situation, he could give her a few, you know, eye openers, lessons, otherwise the poor girl will be terrified when her new husband gets her alone tomorrow evening.’ She cupped her hand around her mouth. ‘He’s a bit of an animal, the groom; the consummation is likely to be fast and furious, a bit too much for
