flat against his chest. “I’ve never had a piece made just for me. The Navajo Circle is our philosophy of life. All is connected. Just like you are to me.”

Tank pulled a thin sheet over his naked lap and placed a small box in the center. Now it was her turn to be surprised. He fingered the turquoise oval with silver at its center. She’d had it made for him. No one in Zuni would craft such a piece without it being requested. It would’ve taken the silversmith months.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” he said softly, his heart squeezed by emotions.
“Oh my,” Lee said. A chill had crept into the Hogan, and she used some of the sheet to cover herself. She tucked it under her arms and covered her breasts too.
Tank frowned at that. He liked her breasts—a lot. They rode high on her torso and tasted sweet in his mouth, felt good in his hands, and… He stopped. His cock was getting hard again. Although he knew from experience she’d be ready for another session, he had a more pressing matter to deal with.
He lifted the box from his lap and placed in her palms. “Open it.”
She swallowed hard enough for him to hear it in the quiet Hogan. “Is this my surprise?”
He just smiled at her. With her hair scattered and her lips full and puffy, she looked so gorgeous.
“Of course you aren’t going to tell me. Honestly, I’m glad it’s not a heart-shaped box of chocolates,” she said and opened the box. “Tank…”
“Lee Stone, before my ancestors, and God, will you be my wife?” He took her hand in his.
Stunned, she gaped at the ring nestled in its little velvety box.
“I, I expected a bracelet, a necklace, or earrings, sure, but an engagement ring?”
“Lee…”
“Yes! Yes!” Lee shouted. She fell into his arms. And started crying.
“What’s wrong?” Tank wiped her tears with the back of his hand. “Lee?”
“I’m just, just happy.”
Tank smiled. “I’m relieved.”
“Relieved?” she hiccupped and frowned at him.
“You could have said no.”
“Not a chance, cowboy. Not a chance.” Lee kissed him deeply, and somehow Tank heard his ancestors applaud.
