jewellery and
packing my new favourite clutch. I was going to sleep with this bag, that’s how
much I loved it.
‘Summer, James’s here,’ called Dad. James? I mouthed to myself, was Logan undercover? I carefully made my
way downstairs and heard Mum and Dad gasp as they took in my outfit, but not as
loudly as I gasped to see the stranger in a suit standing in our small hall.
‘Miss Beresford, I’m here to take
you to meet Logan. Are you ready?’
    ‘I am,’ I smiled, feeling a bit
disappointed. I’d loved to have seen Mum’s reaction when she saw Logan’s
gorgeous face.
‘Your date has a driver?’ Mum
raised her eyebrows at me. We didn’t have a lot of money, at least not until
this payment I received, not many people in our street had a car, let alone a
driver.
    ‘Apparently so. See you
tomorrow.’ I kissed her on the cheek and turned to kiss Dad and he gave me a
hug.
‘You look stunning. Make sure he
continues to treat you respectfully, and if you’re lying to me and it is that wanker and he hurts you, I don’t care how big a star he is in Hollywood,
I’ll flatten him.’
    ‘Thanks, Dad,’ I smiled and
kissed his cheek. ‘See you tomorrow.’ I followed James to a black Mercedes and he
opened the back door for me. I looked at him and smiled and carefully climbed
into the back seat, waving at my parents, who were standing open mouthed in the
doorway as we pulled away. ‘So do you know Logan well?’ I enquired.
‘In a way. I drive for him on a
regular basis, but he’s a very private person.’
‘He’s a nice guy though, right?’
I asked as I nervously twisted my silver ring on my right hand.
    ‘You’re in perfectly safe hands
with Mr. Steele,’ he smiled in his rear view mirror. Rather an apt choice of
phrase, I thought as we sped towards central London.

I stood outside the door of the penthouse
and adjusted my dress. What if he didn’t like me? If I wasn’t attractive
enough for him to get it up? I thought as I chewed my mouth again. I’d be
so humiliated. I reminded myself that he asked for pictures before confirming a
booking, which had actually been more humiliating than this. Then there was a
chance of rejection, at least I’d been picked. I pitied the poor women that
plucked up the courage to approach him and were rejected based on looks alone.
He must be such a shallow guy. What the hell was I doing here? I turned
around and started walking away, then stopped for a moment, closed my eyes and
thought about it logically. It was one night, one night with a shallow, super hot guy. What harm could it do?
I went back and knocked on the
door firmly and quickly adjusted the hem of my dress again as I heard his
footsteps approaching and the latch being pulled. No going back now Summer, I thought as I suddenly felt sick. The door swung open and I blinked rapidly
and gulped so hard I completely drained my mouth of all saliva, which was
possibly a bonus, otherwise I was liable to have dribbled all over the polished
wood floor. However hot Logan looked in his pictures, was nothing compared to the man in person. He just exuded confidence, masculinity and raw
sex appeal, no wonder he came so highly recommended. When he smiled I almost
felt as if I was going to faint and swayed on my feet. O shit Summer, he’s
going to eat you alive .

Summer looked even more amazing in the flesh than I’d
imagined. I’d chosen well, the electric blue of her dress really complimented
her skin tone and brought out the sparkle in her eyes, as well as fitting her
curvy body perfectly. I swallowed hard and tried to ignore how much my balls
ached as I looked at her, then suddenly remembered I was supposed to be the guy
in charge. I gave her my best smile and saw her blink and swallow as hard as I
had. Well that was a bonus, my fear that the one woman in years I’d got a
reaction to, being the one woman who wouldn’t react to me, seemed totally
unfounded. I reached out quickly and
