Will you…”

“I’ll make sure they stay with your bags, don’t worry. If you don’t want to put them on, you don’t have to.”

“Oh. Right. Thank you.” Stella appreciated that she didn’t need to put any more clothes on because, quite frankly, this felt overdressed.

“Again. Not a problem. If you’ll head up to the front desk, they’ll check you in while I get your bags.”

Stella strode confidently up to the front desk. A young woman was typing quickly on a computer keyboard, but looked up and smiled broadly as she saw Stella move closer. “Hello! You must be Stella!”

    “How’d you know that?”

“We knew you were here the moment we saw that your limo had arrived.”

    “Oh. Of course!”

“So let me speak on behalf of MCVI when I say welcome to our Seattle resort. We think you’ll have an awesome time here.”

“I sure hope so. I’ve needed a vacation for a while.”

“Then this is the place to be. We’ve got just about everything you could need. When you get up to your room, you might want to turn to channel 69 on your TV to see about the full host of services we offer.”

“Channel 69, huh?” Stella struggled to suppress a giggle.

“Oh, yes. Whatever you might need is there.” The clerk winked at Stella.

The driver soon stepped in next to Stella. “So is she good to go to her room?”

“Not quite. I still need her to sign here…” Stella looked at the paper the clerk had placed next to her keycard. Stella leaned forward and quickly signed the form. The clerk took the form away. “Thank you. Now you know about the presentation. It's in Conference Room A down the hall. The meeting starts promptly at 10 tomorrow morning, so if you’re not on time, we reserve the right to charge you in full for everything you do here.”

    “Tomorrow at 10. Got it.”

“Now. You’ll want to present this card to the bartender any time you want a drink. You’re entitled to up to three cocktails per day.” The clerk placed a card bearing a simple drawing of a martini glass on the counter.

“That’s more than I’ll use, but thank you.”

“And this is your key card. Looks like you’re in room 405, so just go to the elevators right down the hall and head up to the fourth floor. We hope you’ll enjoy your stay with us.”

“Thank you.” Stella turned quickly and almost walked into a tall, muscular guy wearing only a pair of boxer shorts. “Oh! Excuse me! I didn’t see you there!”

“It’s all right. I take it you’re checking in, too.”

Stella wanted to say that she wanted to check him out but decided against it. “Yes.”

“Well, I’m sure I’ll see you around this week, then.”

“I guess I will.” Stella started to walk away from him.

“Wait! What’s your name?” he said before she could get too far away.

She stopped and, paused for a moment, and said, “Stella.”

    “I’m Nick.”

Stella followed her driver to her room, not listening to Nick’s conversation with the desk clerk.

Chapter 4

After her driver had placed her suitcase on the bed, Stella thanked him and watched him disappear down the hallway before she could give him a tip. On her way back to her suitcase, she paused to look at herself in the full-length mirror that hung near the door to her room. She silently cursed herself for not having worn sexier underwear on the plane. The best thing she could say about this off-white pair of panties and bra, was that they matched.

Her eyes caught the moist spot on her panties and she wondered if that guy she’d run into downstairs noticed her, or if he was even interested. She shook her head. Of course he was interested; he wouldn’t have asked her her name if he hadn’t been. What was his name again? Dick? No, it was Nick. She smiled broadly, wondering how he’d feel, knowing she’d thought of him as “Dick” first.
