her wealth of literary experience, but for her wicked sense of humour too. They had got along like a house on fire and Jackie wondered if her orange hair had something to do with her outspoken goofiness, which she didn’t mind at all. Everyone had got along with her at work, she had been a valuable member of staff, who had replaced Karen, the fiendish witch, who had distressed everybody, with her irony and contemptible nature. It was paramount that everyone got along with each other, ever since Karen had quit. Jackie was aware that productivity was based solely on happy employees, she encouraged and praised good performance and an incentive, was booming profit for Glamour .
Samantha had put together the most funniest invitations and had handed them out to staff for her friends hen’s night, who was looking for numbers. Jackie couldn’t resist and neither did the rest of the staff, who looked in disbelief at the sexy, half naked men, displayed on the invite.
As Jackie got out of the car, she walked towards a wide eyed Samantha, who greeted her with a smile and her quick wit.
“Hey gorgeous, you look sexy in those red pumps, who you picking up tonight?’
“Someone hot, I hope?” Jackie laughed.
“I’ve booked a table,” Samantha winked, “there are around ten of us, drinks on me tonight.”
“Thanks for your generosity Sam”, she said impressed.
As they walked inside the rowdy nightclub, the music was pumping and the crowds were dancing. A waiter wearing a red bow tie around his neck, displaying a toned physique walked up to Jackie, his pearly whites beaming at her, as he lifted up the tray towards her. She picked up a cocktail from his tray, smiled up at him, as he walked away. The music was crazy loud and you could try talking, but you would not be heard. It was going to be a wild hen’s night, strippers with rock hard bodies, chiselled faces, muscular legs, olive and black skin. Two looked like they were from the Mediterranean, two from South Africa and the other two were Australian and profoundly tanned. The wild women in the club were screaming with hilarity, as the strippers walked off stage, exhibiting their hot bodies in full view.
“Fuck me,’’ yelled out Samantha, “why don’t real men look like this?”
“Because if they did, none of us would get out of bed to go to work, in the morning,” Jackie responded laughing.
Jackie held on to the cocktail in her hand, careful not to spill it, as she wormed her way around the crowd, to find the rest room. She checked her mobile, displaying one missed call, followed by two missed text messages. The rest room was dark and dim, she could barely read the messages, but caught a glimpse of one from Carrie. She pressed on her smartphone and scrolled on to the icon torch, lighting up the screen on her mobile.
‘Liam asked me to stay the night and I’m thinking of moving in with him, I’ll see you tomorrow, hope you are having a good night, cheers Carrie.’
Jackie realised her sister was about to spread her wings and go be with the love of her life. She text back, ‘so happy for you, see you tomorrow.’
As she left the rest room, she pushed her way through the crowded bar, heading towards Samantha’s circle of friends, to meet and greet them. But there was too much commotion in the club to talk to anyone. The sexy strippers were back on stage, dancing around to the beat of the music, wearing only cowboy hats and G-strings. The women were screaming their lungs out, having panic attacks on the dance floor. The ripped Aussie stripper came out on stage, holding a microphone as he brought out a chair. He picked out a young woman from the crowd, who was wearing a sparkling tiara on her head.
“Hey Princess, the one getting married, why don’t you come on stage and say hello to Ben,” he winked. The women were going wild, as they applauded loudly and all eyes were fixated on Ben.
“So what’s your name gorgeous?” Ben asked out aloud, as the
