Laura with a smile on his face; a smile she’d learnt meant he had a surprise for her but at with the way she was feeling she dismissed him almost instantly and brushed past to head to the kitchen. It wasn’t that she didn’t love Paul anymore, she just found herself to be gravitating towards Alexander; there was something inside her that made her crave him. Laura couldn’t quite figure out what it was but she knew that questioning it wouldn’t help – she was his, she wanted to be his.
Paul wondered after her and started questioning what was wrong; he could tell when she was avoiding him but he had no idea the reasoning behind it. She’d never had eyes for anyone else and she never thought she would until recently. As Paul muttered into her ear Laura began going through her books and found the piece of paper in which she’d written the word ‘temptation’ – the subject for the weekend’s paper that she intended to use to impress her lecturer.
Laura thought to herself that this was a chance to confess her attraction. She could write down every word that Alexander put into her head and if he took it the wrong way she could call it all fiction and brush it off. However, she hoped that if she written it out specifically in such a way that a woman similar to herself came on to a lecturer similar to Alexander hopefully he would take it as a huge compliment and make a move on her – this was of course all in her mind but nevertheless Laura wanted to take the chance. She didn’t know if she’d actually be able to mumble two words in front of the man but writing down how she felt on paper and not being there when he read it made things a lot easier on her nerves.
“Laura did you hear me.” Suddenly Paul’s voice which grew more irritating to Laura’s ears each day struck her; bringing her away from her thoughts and to her boyfriend who was facing her.
“You, me, a romantic dinner. A hotel room, flowers, champagne, everything. Come on.” It seemed he did have something planned after-all, however Laura was more interested in her paper and the only thing that ran across her mind was how that would interfere with it.
“I have work to do.” She once again brushed off her boyfriend and his attempts at doing something nice for them. She didn’t think twice about her response but the sudden echo of a foot slamming into the ground caused her to break away from the little daze she was in.
“What’s wrong with you?!” Paul screamed it at her, he’d lost patience with his girlfriend and an increasing worrying feeling was roaming to all the corners of his mind. They’d made it five years; five long years and never before had she hid anything from him the way she was now.
Laura saw the look of fear in Paul’s eyes, the look that something was tearing them apart. She realized what her new-found obsession was doing to their relationship and with that a shadow of guilt was cast over her. She placed the paper down and walked over to her boyfriend, gently planting a kiss on his cheeks and holding his shaking hands to steady them. She knew things couldn’t go on the way they were; this wasn’t healthy for either of them.
“I’m sorry. It sounds perfect.” Laura’s words were gentle and eased Paul’s nerves. She wrapped her arms around him and pushed thoughts of Alexander to the back of her mind. She knew she had something good here; something she didn’t want to mess up. Her obsession with her lecturer was based on lust but her life with Paul was based on love; love she didn’t want to ruin.
Although she felt guilty for it Laura was still extremely aroused from the dream she’d had whilst in Alexander’s car. She pressed herself up against Paul in hopes to turn him on, rubbing her short, little skirt against his crotch and moving her lips slowly to his ear; nibbling playfully and giggling to herself. He’d always loved her short bursts of laughter, he found her
