only up and ready because April seems to think that we should get to school early.”
Yeah, I don’t think so. I’m not getting there until I have to. “I don’t care what she thinks. I’ll be there before the bell,” I say. Heather just smiles at me. I know she’s thinking the same thing. April’s just starting high school so all three of us would be in the same school this year. “So, big bro. Ready for some breakfast?” Heather asks. I want to say no but know that, sooner or later, Mom will be up here kicking my ass down the stairs and out the door without anything to eat so I follow Heather down.
Mom, Dad, and April are all eating when we come in. They look up as if we grew extra heads overnight. “What? You didn’t think we would be up and ready for this shitty first day of school?” I ask.
Dad points his finger at me in warning. “Watch what you say, Jase. Why can’t you two be a little happier? Who knows? Maybe you’ll meet some hot girls and guys. You two might even enjoy going to this school.” I smirk at him. Yeah, he knows I’ll be looking.
Mom slaps his arm playfully. “I hope all three of you have a good day and make new friends…maybe even try out for the football and track teams,” Mom says. Yeah, we’ll see. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to try out yet. Who knows? Maybe I’ll hate everyone here.
Heather and I finish eating our cereal. “We better get going or we’ll be late,” I said. April jumps up from her chair, knocking it over, and was out the door before I even finish my sentence. Heather and I just stare at the door, then we all start laughing. Wow, okay.
“ Bye, Mom and Dad,” Heather and I say, walking out the door.
I t didn't take us long to get to school because it was only five blocks from home. I am not looking forward to this. Heather and April both get out of my truck. I tell them to go ahead, and I’ll meet up with them later. I sit there, thinking about my old friends and school, really wanting to be there and not here. Instead, I was the new kid for my senior year. Damn, I hate this shit.
Getting out of my truck, I look around for Heather, wondering if she went into school already. I see her standing with two other girls who, from behind, look hot. Well, damn, it didn’t take her long to meet new people. I yell out my sister’s name. She isn’t even paying attention, but the other two girls turn around. Both of them are hot, but the tall one is really hot.
Heather’s looking at something so I follow her gaze and see a bunch of guys laughing…except one. He looks like one girl standing with my sister. I try calling out for Heather again, but she still doesn’t acknowledge me. Damn, sis, get a grip. The one girl turns back to Heather, trying to get her attention. I'm almost standing behind her when she finally looks at me . “Oh, hey, Jase. Sorry, I didn’t hear you. This is Maggie and Amy. I just met them,” Heather says, pointing at them.
Didn't April say something about meeting Maggie last night ? April was right. This girl is beautiful…no, gorgeous. She looks like a Cover Girl model. I think I’m going to like this school, after all. Heather looks back at me. “This is my brother, Jase.” They both look back to me again, checking me out, but I’m far more interested in Maggie.
T hey both say, “It’s nice to meet you, Jase.” Damn, she even has a sexy voice.
I turn back to Heather. “Sis, we need to head into the office. Let’s go.” I know that not saying anything to the girls was rude, but whatever.
We hear some guy yelling Maggie’s name. “Maggie, get you’re your butt over here! I need to talk to you…NOW!” I wonder if that’s her boyfriend. By the way she's rolling her eyes and Amy’s laughing, I would have to say no.
Amy turns back around. “Aww, Mags, looks like your overprotective brother doesn’t like this,” she says. Wow, I’m not even that bad with my sisters. He looks ready to drag her
