answer.” She flung her bag over her shoulder as she slowed down to walk at the same pace as me. Who’d have thought someone that small could walk that fast. She must mean the book the football team kept to keep track of the points in their sex game. Each girl is worth a certain number of points depending on their purity, looks and experience.
“Oh. That explains it. Well, as long as I’m doing this for Beau I’ll run as much interference as possible for you. I’d hate to see a little thing like you getting hurt by a git like him.” I opened Grace’s door for her and waited for her to get in.
She thanked me quietly as she got in. “So how do you know Beau?”
I revved the engine causing the seats to vibrate at the power under the hood. “Auto shop last year, when I moved here during the middle of the school year he did me a solid. He’s a pretty good friend to have.”
She tensed up as we sped off fast enough for the tires to bark against the pavement. “Oh. Yeah, the whole family is pretty cool.”
“ Haven’t met the others yet.” My eyes flicked up to the rearview then back to the road. Some white mustang tried to ride my bumper. I stepped on the gas and smirked to myself as we shot off down the road. “They do seem pretty close.”
“Yeah they are. It took me by surprise being an only kid and then being exposed to them. They love pulling pranks on each other.”
“I’d say so.” I swallowed hard trying to ignore the pang of sadness that threatened to envelope me as I thought of my own brother.
When we pulled into Frank’s , I saw two girls sitting at the table beside Beau and the kid that got smacked in the back of the head from this morning. The depressed kid with the motorcycle stood by the table with a goofy smile on his face. I parked the car, turned it off seconds before she jumped out and ran over to him hopping in his arms. She wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him. I suppressed the urge to snort in disgust at the blatant affection they had for each other.
“Get a room you two!” The kid beside Beau laughed and threw a fry at them.
I walked over to Beau who clapped me on the back. “Thanks for doing this, Drez. That’s Charles and Luke is with Roxy. This is my sister Marie and their friend Jess.”
“ A pleasure to meet you. It’s not a problem. Glad I could help out. You are aware that Bus is harassing her?” I took a seat beside a very flushed Marie. I winked at her, which caused her cheeks to turn a deeper shade of pink.
“Still?” Charles sighed and shook his head. “Luke, frère, you are going to have to kick his ass or something. This is getting absurd.”
“He cornered her at her locker a few minutes ago and told her that he couldn’t wait to…. How did he put it? Oh yes pop her cherry and he might even let Luke watch.” The smell of food made my stomach clench in pain. I quickly snatched a fry off Marie’s tray and continued. “She said that he was a little too late for that. That she’d been getting a piece of him for weeks and damn was he good.” I smirked.
“Well he is.” Roxy muttered which caused Jess to cackle.
Marie smacked my hand when I tried to snatch another fry. “Get your own.” She mumbled under her breath.
My eyes widened in surprise. Shit, I can’t believe I forgot to ask. I looked over at her and lost my train of thought when her golden eyes settled on mine. I lowered my eyelids giving her a quick perusal of her attributes. I recognize those jeans from earlier. Hello Legs. I stared into her eyes. “Would if I could, pet, but I’m a little short on funds today.”
I grabbed another fry and just as I was about to pop it in my mouth. She grabbed it from me and got nose to nose with me. Her breath fanned my face hinting of chocolate and mint before she said in a voice that immediately brought to mind silk sheets and tangled limbs. “Dat’s no’ my problem, Shug.” She leaned back and ate the fry. My sight was drawn to
