chamber and that horrible voice from the dead warning her.
“There was a voice in my head telling me to do dirty things to myself,” Tracie said reluctantly.
“That much we gathered,” Axel said. “Was there anything else?”
Tracie tried to remember. “It was a warning, I think,” she said.
“What did the warning say?” Amanda asked.
“It said Return the bones or pay.” Tracie shifted in her bed. “That’s the last thing I remember. What do you think it means?”
Axel sunk in his seat. “What’s the matter with you?” Amanda asked.
    “I… ummm… it’s hard to explain.”
Tracie and Amanda exchanged looks. “Try us,” they said.
“Well, you see it’s like this. I was worried that we’d get shut down and a guy like me has to protect his reputation.”
Amanda hovered over him. “What did you do, Jones?”
Axel squirmed in his seat. “I might have removed some remains and sold them to collector in London.”
“You did what?” Tracie screamed. She tried to move from her bed so she could smack him for his insolence, but Amanda held out her arms and guided her to lie back down.
“Do you know what you’ve done, Axel?” Tracie could feel her voice quivering.
“You’ve angered one mighty mean fertility god, that’s what he’s done,” Amanda said.
Axel shifted in his seat. He didn’t look sorry, but he then again, he never did.
“Come on, ladies, you don’t believe in all that hocus pocus stuff do you? This is archaeology, not some paranormal pseudoscience.”
Amanda opened the book she had been scanning earlier. “Yes, I believe in the hocus pocus stuff. Do you want to know why?”
Axel shrugged and tried to look innocent.
“It’s because of what Tracie was chanting during the ritual. I’ve translated it.”
“Show me,” Tracie said, desperately wanting to connect the dots in her missing memory.
Amanda held on the paper not wanting to show Tracie.
“If I said it, I want to see it first.”
Amanda reluctantly showed Tracie the translation and at that moment, if all came flooding back to her. The altar, the giant stone cocks in her ass and in her pussy.
Well, that explains a lot, Tracie thought.
“Well?” Axel said impatiently. “What does it say?”
Tracie cleared her throat. “It says: Whoever desecrated the tomb must pay homage of the flesh or more shall die.” Tracie looked up from the paper. “What do you think it means?”
Axel laced his fingers behind his head and leaned back in his chair. An enormous grin spread across his unshaven face.
“What’s your problem?” Amanda asked haughtily.
“It means, ladies, that we must perform our own sex ritual in the Temple of the 7th God.”
    “That’s impossible!” Amanda said.
“We’ve all desecrated the temple with our…er… performance,” Axel said triumphantly. “Even though I stole the bones, the three of us will have to pay the tribute.”
“Once again, Dr. Jones, you’ve managed to make profit out of your follies,” Tracie said.
“All in a day’s work, sweetheart!”
    ***
A threesome, Axel thought mentally crossing off another item on his bucket list. He’d thought he’d never see the day.
He felt the same way about the massive temple before him. It was simply majestic, with two frontal pillars styled in acanthus leaves. On the sides and down the hall as far as he could see, torches chased off the darkness. Every inch of the temple, from the pillars to the torch placements, to the gargantuan doors on the side chambers, was made of cream-colored marble, and more than three thousand years old.
“A palace to party with the gods, “ Axel muttered to himself. “And tonight, we shall party again!” Axel bucked his hips as if ramming his rod into an unseen body.
“You are so sure about yourself, aren’t you Jones?” said Amanda.
Embarrassed, Axel turned to find Amanda and Tracie decked in flowing see-through ceremonial gowns. From where they stood with the torchlight glowing
