help her forget Sergeant Jordan. It hadn’t.
    Sergeant Jordan.
The man whose bright green eyes made her catch her breath every time she’d looked at him. The one whose full lips she’d craved to kiss. The one whose mouth13

watering, ultra-huge, heavy cock she’d lifted while she’d given him his sponge baths when he’d first come to the hospital.
Even his name had sounded sexy.
Sergeant Connor Jordan. The man she’d let get away.
She didn’t know how she knew it, but instincts kept insisting he might have been the one for her. They’d gotten along so well during his recovery. They didn’t even have to talk and they’d known each other’s moods. She’d even been able to read the hunger in his gaze as he’d watched her every move like some predatory animal wanting to mate with her.
She couldn’t deny there was a sexual energy zapping the air between them, but she was a professional and had never acted upon it…except for those delicious sponge baths. The sponge baths had been rather intimate. Okay so they’d both enjoyed them a little too much.
She’d taken too much pleasure in wrapping her fingers around his thick shaft and feeling the heavy weight of his member in her hands while she’d bathed his scrotum and other intimate parts.
Even when Connor’s rowdy brothers had come to visit, she hadn’t missed their elbow nudges or the huge smiles they threw her way when she walked into Connor’s hospital room.
Shit! Now that she thought about it, even her fellow nurses had commented on what a cute couple they would make. She’d never felt so sexually attracted to a man before. Maybe she should have said something to Connor. Should have followed through on the sexual attraction.
Sadness enveloped her as she remembered how professional she’d acted with him. In the end she’d let him go with nothing but a tight hug and a peck on the cheek. When he’d left, she’d cried her eyes out in the nurses’ lounge for hours. It had been just over a month since he’d been gone. He’d never come back or even called. Not that she’d expected him to.

The sound of the elevator doors opening ripped her from her sadness. Stepping out into the deserted hospital parking garage her neck tingled a warning a split second before two shadowy figures dressed in black parkas suddenly stepped in front of her. Icy tendrils of caution slithered up her spine as she moved to get around them. They barred her way. Both wore smug grins.
Shit! Was this a robbery? Attempted rape? Or could it be… them .
The familiar charge of adrenaline screamed through her.
“Nurse Tangle Sparks, we presume,” one of the men said sharply. It was them . She relaxed if only a bit. She didn’t recognize their faces. She never did. They always sent the new ones. Someone she wouldn’t suspect as being part of the organization.
But whoever came for her, she never went down without a fight. When the men reached for her, she managed to elbow the closest one in the stomach. A direct hit if his gasp of pain was an indication.
“You little bitch!” The other one reached for her. She tried to elbow him too, but he anticipated her move and wrenched her arms painfully behind her back effectively disabling her.
The one she’d socked in the stomach came around in front of her. Pain and anger glistened in his eyes. Oh yeah, she’d gotten him good. Served him right for not being careful.
“You really shouldn’t go around hitting men you don’t know,” he hissed.
“You shouldn’t go around picking on women you don’t know,” she retorted, and braced herself as his hand came up and he gently brushed the back of his knuckles along her jaw.
“Very nice. Very nice. I bet you’ll be a really good fuck.”
She twisted against the guy holding her arms. Tried to get free. He was way too strong.
