Christmas at Purgatory (Thalia Extra #1)
over his lips as he trailed a hand up her arm to cup her
face. His eyes were still bottle-glass green. She knew he and Kalen
had shared for years, that he wouldn’t be upset with her for saying
yes. They were so much stronger than petty jealousies and
insecurities. They were strong enough to recognize the desires in
the other person and do everything in their power to make them
real. And that’s what James was offering her. Tonight.

Officially. Best. Christmas. Ever.

“I want it.” Thalia whispered and a low groan rumbled in James’
chest as he leaned forward to place a chaste kiss on her lips. His
restraint was obvious when he didn’t take it further. Then he
pulled back and looked past her to Kalen and nodded slightly.

“What’s going on? What did you get, Thalia?” Maggie was up on her
knees, looking between the three of them with wide blue eyes. Kalen
leaned forward, his hand moving into Maggie’s wild, red curls. Her
entire attitude shifted, her lips parting, a soft murmur slipping
from her as he craned her head back. Kalen kissed her neck, but
Thalia saw him pulling his own envelope out of his back
pocket.

“Hush, blessing. Ye have a present too.” He was grinning at her
when her eyes widened and she cheered, snagging the envelope from
Kalen’s fingers as he released her hair. Maggie tore into it with
an excited wiggle, and Thalia couldn’t imagine what hers said. Was
Kalen asking her permission? Had she wanted something else? Her
eyes trailed across the paper and then a blush crept up Maggie’s
cheeks. She glanced at Thalia for a second before looking up at
Kalen.

“Sir?” The note was in her lap, her fingers crinkling the
edges.

“Up to ye, Maggie.” Kalen murmured, his broad shoulders angled
forward as he leaned on his knees to be closer to her.

“What does yours say, Maggie?” Thalia sat up as Maggie’s
blue eyes landed back on her. At first Maggie didn’t respond, then
she moved until she was in front of Thalia, looking up at her from
the floor. It was the most submissive she’d ever seen her, and
Maggie was only looking at her.

“It says that, as long as yer okay with it, I can play with ye. And
later, Kalen and James want to play with ye.” Maggie bit her lip
and it drew Thalia’s attention to her mouth. Cupid’s bow lips, pale
pink, her cheeks speckled with freckles and flushed in her nerves.
It reminded her of how Maggie had approached Kalen after the
cropping, asking permission to touch her, and he had refused her
then. Thalia hadn’t been healed yet, she hadn’t passed
Kalen’s program. The answer had been no, but now it was yes, and
Thalia wanted to know what Maggie’s lips tasted like. She wanted to
know what Julie had meant about it being different than
kissing a guy, especially a Dom.

She opened her mouth to speak, but changed her mind. Words weren’t
enough. Thalia reached forward and cupped Maggie’s face - and
kissed her. Maggie let out a surprised sound, tense for only a
moment before she softened against her mouth. Thalia had never been
this bold, but she wanted to prove to Maggie, to prove to everyone in the room that she was no longer fragile. There
was no ‘Handle with Care’ sign on her forehead anymore. She didn’t
want any questions on her state of mind, she didn’t want any
special treatment. Maggie leaned back and Thalia followed her
forward off the couch. When she laid down, Thalia leaned over her,
her knees landing on either side of Maggie’s hips, leaving Thalia
straddling her. Maggie’s mouth opened to hers and the kiss
deepened, a quiet moan slipping from them both as Maggie’s hands
slid into Thalia’s hair. They held each other in the kiss, nipping
lips, smiling at each other, before returning to it.
It went on and on, Maggie’s hands wandering
down her sides to her hips, to her bare thighs. Thalia took the
chance to kiss down Maggie’s throat and she arched under her. It
was different in ways, but the same in others. People were
