only got louder. How could she have loved him all these years and he didn't even remember her face?
Before she had left work the day before, Rachel had given her a list of things she was to do that day, the first of which was collecting Christopher's breakfast and delivering it to the office.
As Kylie carried the brown bag and latte into the lift, she could feel her heart racing. She was still unsure about what she should do and the day had come too quickly for her liking. As she walked into the open plan office, she greeted at Rachel who was already behind her desk.
"Good Morning Rachel." Kylie said, trying to sound calm and collected.
"Hi." Rachel said, without looking away from her computer screen.
When she had reached Christopher's office doors, she knocked, twice softly.
"Come in." His voice called out. Kylie pushed open the door and walked in.
"Good morning Mr Matthews." She said as she placed the brown bag and latte on his desk. He didn't look up to acknowledge her. "I've brought you your breakfast." She continued, after he hadn't replied to her good morning.
"Yes, Louise, was it?" He finally said looking up at her.
"It's Kylie." She replied, a little more curtly than she had intended to.
"Right, Kylie." He said, ignoring the sharp tone she had just used.
Kylie wasn't sure as to what to do next. She wanted to stay in the room with him, to make him remember her, without her having to tell him who she was, but she didn't know how.
"The flowers in the lobby are beautiful." She finally said, deciding that might help him remember, as it had her on the day she had come in for her interview. He looked up, in surprise, but Kylie couldn't tell whether it was surprise over her mentioning the flowers, or surprise over her still being there.
"Yes, they're Bluebonnets." He said with a sigh, giving no further explanation.
"Do they grow around here?" Kylie asked coyly, pushing him into a response, without giving away her intentions.
"No, they're native to Texas." He said flatly.
"Oh, I'm originally from Texas." Kylie said, grasping the moment with both hands.
Christopher looked at her for a moment, letting his eyes meet hers. For a second, Kylie thought he might be remembering her, there was a look in his eye which told her he was considering something.
"Look Kylie, I'm kind of busy, you know with a multi billion dollar company to run and all, can I help you with something?" He said with a sarcastic under tone.
Kylie felt a wave of disappointment accompanied with embarrassment wash over her.
"No, sorry to have disturbed you." She said quickly and retreated out of the office.

Kylie had been working as Christopher's assistant for almost a month and he still hadn't remembered who she was. With each day that passed, Kylie could feel her frustration growing. She had dropped enough hints, spoken about Texas enough times and caught his eye far too many times for him to have not got it by now.
"You should just tell him." Felix said one day, after Kylie had been venting her frustrations again to him, for the hundredth time that week.
"I can't just tell him." Kylie snapped and then instantly regretted it. "Sorry Felix, I'm just so frustrated." She said quickly.
Felix didn't say anything; he just threw his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a hug.
The next day though, Kylie had a brainwave, as she looked at her list of errands. She decided she would give it one last shot, at making him remember. As lunchtime approached, she nervously called up the sushi place, which she normally collected Christopher's lunch from and cancelled his order.
She then went to the coffee shop which was next to the building that become more of a touchdown place than a workplace. She was often out for most of the day running errands and she struggled to think of the towering office building as the place she worked. Instead she saw the entire city as her
