goals.
“It is an unique beverage from the Davenportillini Villa Orchards,” he added.
Mati couldn’t help but to gasp at the name Davenportillini Villa. It was where her two vampire lovers lived. Although she indulged in their wines when homesickness for them hit her, she had until recently tried on the most part to avoid delving into the past.
She knew the brothers had made a name with their wine and it seemed fitting she would have a drink from there, a place where she’d been so wonderfully pleasured and a place she had fantasized about many a time.
“That would be fine. Thank you.”
She made a move to sit up, but the male, the one with the deeper voice, informed her to remain where she lay.
“You can sip through a straw while lying. A most unusual way to drink, but we find it most relaxing.” And then she heard footsteps move toward the door. A moment later the door opened and she heard that roll of wheels again and imagined a small wine wagon lavished with bunches of red and purple grapes as well as several wine bottles being pulled into the room.
A gurgle of wine splashing into a glass followed, and immediately she smelled the sweet, delectable, unique scent of a Davenportillini wine. In her mind she could even envision a strong hand pushing the low wagon beneath the bed, just below her face. Imagined a boot-shaped glass with red wine and a straw swirling in the goblet.
She blinked in surprise as a straw suddenly touched her lips. Had she imagined the hand and the boot-shaped glass in her mind? Or had it just been wistful wishing?
The scent of the wine filled her nostrils. Sweet. Seductive. Perfect.
Drawing the straw into her mouth, she sucked, and a colorful array of flavors splashed against her taste buds. Sweet, sour, tart and other flavors she couldn’t put a name to, melted over her tongue like a waterfall teasing her senses.
“They just released this blend from their private collection. Quite expensive. They call it Matilda Rosso Wine 1898. Rumor has it, they have an enormous stash in their cellar named after an evil vampiress who seduced them and then ran from their love over a century ago.”
Oh sweet vampire! She was Matilda! Tears sprang to her eyes and guilt spiraled through her like a corkscrew. She was the evil vamp who’d captured the brothers in a tangle of love. Love she had to run from simply because she feared for their safety.
It had been a tumultuous time. Her realizing she loved the two vampires and that they loved her. Her not knowing if staying at their villa would keep her safe or if her hiding place would be found and her new loves, killed for harboring a fugitive.
She had helped them pick the grapes that went into the Matilda collection. Laughing while they picked. Getting drunk. Making love beneath the golden moon in the endless rows of the orchards.
Lust. Sex. Love. It had all been followed up by the overwhelming fear for their safety. The fear she still possessed to this very day.
“We shall begin,” the vamp named John said. She felt a tug at her nape and realized she’d forgotten to let her hair down from the severe updo.
“Your hair is too beautiful and voluptuous to be bound, cara .”
My, he did have a way with words. Her scalp tingled erotically as he picked out the pins and loosened her bun, then ran his fingers through the strands, splashing her hair over her bared shoulders.
While he stroked her hair, she heard the other male squirt some minty-smelling massage oil over his palms. At first she thought the smell was that of the oil, but realized it came from the vampires. Although the flower aroma mostly masked their scents, she caught enticing glimpses.
Their scents were strong and intertwined through the air, mixing with the flowers and making a beautiful bouquet of aromas. Powerful yet tender at the same time. They smelled so much like Gio and Paolo.
Her eyelids became heavy as a most succulent daze wrapped around her.
    Oh sweet vampire.
