automatically curling into the warmth of his grip. Fear of Brian’s threat never reached her heart. However, Morgan's little news article didn’t help, especially since the Internet held no assistance in her finding any more on the case of the three missing men in Ireland that supposedly worked for him.
She said nothing as they exited the building and crossed to the glass parking structure. Peering around, she felt as if someone watched her. Too coincidental receiving the basket with the scathing message just as Jonathan mysteriously shows up in her office. Brian might’ve had Jonathan tailed. Kenya reached in her purse, retrieved her garage access card and went to swipe it through the little metal box.
“Kenya.” She halted, and then turned on her heels. He took the card and slid it through the slot, pushed the metal bar, then handed her the card. “I don’t know what I did to push you away from me, but I’m still a gentleman. I’ll wait until I see your car before I pull off.”
“Thank you…Jonathan,” she barely recognized her voice and knew it was the impact of having him this close to her senses…and her mouth. Brian’s threat was real.

Close to a month ago when Kenya had announced they were over, Jonathan put three of his men on her trail and all the reports were the same: home by seven each evening after visiting her parents, or dinners with Julia. If there had been another man, he never surfaced. He’d had enough avoidance. Only Kenya could tell him the truth.
Walking through the lobby of his building, Jonathan with his hand on Kenya's back nodded to the concierge. The silver doors of the elevator parted and he followed her inside. When the doors closed, he stepped behind her with his hands on her shoulders.
“Let me take your coat, it’s warm in here.” He waited a full thirty seconds before he felt her unbuttoning it; gently she brushed the purse straps from her shoulder. He stood with his hands above her arm. He slipped the coat from her tailored dress. A whiff of her soft scent rose to his nose, not the perfume, but the clean scent of her skin. “You smell nice.” The gentle plane of her back curved against his chest while his mouth moved impatiently along her face. He swept the soft hair slipping through his fingers with his other hand to spill over her shoulders, resting his chin on her shoulder. He raised his eyes to the elevator floors numbers going by in glowing lights over the doors and wished they slowed enough for him to enjoy the moment.
Kenya turned in his arms. Her big, brown eyes, he’d missed with a savage hunger, poured appraisingly over his lips before she shielded the lurid confession they made and settled her attention between his brows.
“What are we doing, Jonathan? Our lives are so different and I can’t be who you need.” Who was she trying to convince, him or herself? “Not the lifestyle you lead.”
“Shh!” he whispered over her warm skin, running a finger over the shell of her ear. He’d missed her whiskey complexion. He traced a line over to the soft curve of her bottom lip, stroking it back and forth. “Just be quiet and let me touch you.” Eyes focused, he palmed her back, pressing her breast flat to his body. Breathing over her parted lips, he said nothing, working his leg between her thighs so she rested along his leg. Moist heat off her sex penetrated his trousers, warming his leg as he brought her closer. His hand cupped her tight butt under her dress making her body shudder. A gentle squeeze and she arched her hips against his groin.
“Am I gonna regret coming up here, Jonathan?”
“Probably—” He caught an edge of nervousness in her shaky voice. They were the only two in the elevator, why would he make her uneasy?
Guiding her into the penthouse, he paused seeing her attention focused on the wall of windows. Kenya stretched her neck, scanning the terrace.
“Gonna tell me why you’re so jumpy?” He hung their
