could feel things. I was appointed as the lead for the human genome invasion project.
When I lost your mom and you, my ranks were demoted and I had to work very hard to get it back. It wasn’t until I found you that I could command the same respect. Out only aim here is to fight for existence. We are all fighting the battle.”
“Why did you capture Mia? Why was she picked? Is she special too, dad?”
“Yes, she is. Do you remember you were called N-82 by everyone when you landed here? The reason is that we did a scan of your genome and it belongs to the N-82 category which makes you very superior. We could scan your genome even before we tracked you with the help of my specifics and the details I had of your mom’s. Based upon the same, we had picked Mia as she is the best match for a superior genome. We do not just track biological data as we have much more advanced equipment.
Have you seen the night sky, son? There are so many stars which can be seen from the naked eye and there are even more. Every species has its soul in the stardust which is scattered in the universe. If you want to have the strongest combination, you should ideally look for the stardust that belongs to you. This isn’t the easiest thing to do and on earth, people believe that love helps you find the stardust which you can call your home. We use instruments to find that.
I scanned the stardust scattered in your galaxy and we narrowed down our selection to 7 women. Of all those 7 women, she was best matched to your age and we had no option but to bring her here. She has no clue about any of our plans and you should keep it to yourself too. There is no room for thing like love. I have suffered the consequences of feeling a tiny bit of emotion and if you desire to live your life, refrain from being a fool.”
Lambert was summoned and he left the room without as much as a bye. Life was really strange on Xorosa. Mia was in danger and so was he. It was too much information to process, but he knew that he had to make it work. It would be very hard to put up a fight all by himself and he knew that the only way would be to break their unity.
He had to divide the group but as the Xorosa race was incapable of feeling any emotions, he knew that the task would be even more difficult as he couldn’t ignite jealousy in them. He needed a plan and he would need to stay strong. He touched the ring he was wearing. It was given to him by Charlotte and she had called it his lucky charm. How he wished that it could really work the miracle.
Somehow, he felt stronger like the love of his mother could reach out to him; he scanned the instruments in the room and wondered if he could work on it.  Being half-blood gave him an inner instinct which made him at ease with those instruments. However, he knew he had to be very careful and he had to befriend someone.
He started looking for ideas and tried getting closer with his dad. One of the best ways by which he could make thing work was by exploring the little emotions which his dad could feel. If he could stir emotions inside him, he knew he could have the access to avert the danger. However, in order to do that, he had to, first of all, make his father remember what love felt like and he would need Mia for it.
He spoke to one of the officers in charge of the project and explained why they should let him stay with Mia. He could articulately express his ideas for the improvement of the race. They decided to sit together and discuss and Lambert agreed that in order to take the race forward, it was important for both Carter and Mia to spend a lot of time together because this is how emotions worked. Carter was thrilled to see Mia again; however, when he met her, she looked at him in disgust.
“You played me, didn’t you? You are worse than the people here! You made me hope of a better tomorrow, but all you wanted was my body. How could you be so devoid of heart?” Mia spoke in disgust.
    Carter knew he had to
