    “Are you sure you wouldn’t prefer wine?” He pointed at the
bottle.
    “Drinking wine right away will only make me silly. Perhaps
after another round or two we can open it.” She buttoned her gown and smoothed
her hair until not even the slightest hint remained that she had been
