    Cole kicked his heel lightly against the wall. “Where are you off to? I thought you were supposed to spend the night with Kelly?”
    The mention of his latest bed partner made Drex curl his lip in distaste. Kelly Windsor was a mean-spirited bitch. Her good-girl routine had been an act. After they’d dated for a few weeks, he’d decided not to waste any more time with her.
    “No. I’m done with her. Been done for a while. Now she just needs to get it through her head that things aren’t going to go the way she wants just because her daddy is rich and powerful. I am rich and powerful too.” Unfortunately, he’d already invited her to the event for the evening.
    Cole smirked. “She’s pushy, that one.”
    “I know.” Drex’s anger started to rise. He’d managed to dodge her, but he knew she was looking for him.
    “Good luck getting rid of her.”
    “She’s already been forgotten.” He grinned. Still, Kelly made it hard as hell for him to get his hands on Chris when she kept popping up everywhere. Thankfully, she had no idea where his private quarters were.
    Cole raked his fingers through his hair. “I need to find my woman.”
    His friend had the look of a cat high on sweet cream. “Why?”
    “She was unbelievable.” He sighed.
    Drex laughed. Whatever she’d done, the woman had screwed with his friend’s head. Had he not been so preoccupied with Chris from the moment he spotted her red hair, he might have been more helpful to Cole. The burgundy mass had been like a beacon to him. “You’ll probably have better luck finding someone new.”
    Cole groaned. “No, I want her . I know it sounds stupid, but there was something about her that made her different.”
    He knew all about that. Chris had been driving him crazy since she’d turned seventeen and started wearing miniskirts and bikinis. Back then, he’d always thought he’d end up arrested for fantasizing about a minor. Damn annoyed at the jailbait, he ended up pissed off and took out his frustrations on the sexy teen. If she was around, he’d been an ogre to her.
    If he hadn’t seen the way she’d looked at him in his office, he’d never have believed it. All signs that she’d been aroused by him were evident. It’d been hell not to take her then and there, but he needed to know for sure. Tonight, the waters would be tested.
    “Well, if you’re that desperate, go through the security videos and see if she’s still here.”
    Cole’s gaze jerked up to his. A smile lit his face. “You’re a genius!” He slapped him on the arm and took off, headed for the security level.
    Now it was time to have some fun. A low chuckle left his lips as he walked toward his bedroom.

    Chris was ready to kill somebody, preferably one Drex Callum. He’d made it a point to ignore all her calls for help. She’d twice sent a man to find him and all he’d said was, “Mr. Callum apologizes, but he is busy at this time.” What the hell was his problem with her?
