against the door, he looked down and scrubbed a hand over his face. What the fuck had just happened? And why did he want it to happen again? He groaned and repeatedly slammed his head on the closed door.
On one hand it was one of the most erotic things he’d ever experienced, but on the other hand, it was with another fucking bloke. He wasn’t gay; he’d never been attracted to a man before. But fuck if the thought of Rory’s hand brushing Liam’s as they jerked off didn’t make his dick twitch.
He’d like to blame what happened on the alcohol, but that wasn’t true.
The truth was that he wanted to fuck another man.
Damn. His attraction to Rory upset his view of himself, changed who he thought he was. And if for whatever reason word got out to the rugby team that he and Rory were shagging, or, God forbid, his parents, his life would turn to shit real quick. He could just hear his very conservative father screaming about how he’d been taken over by the devil with unnatural lust. With only three hundred and twenty-eight people in his village, everyone knew everyone, and change came hard. Not only would he be ostracized, but his parents would become social pariahs as well.
He couldn’t do that to them.
Worse yet, Rory was his best friend in addition to being his roommate, and Liam didn’t want to lose that either. They were as close as brothers and knew each other’s families. Double fuck. His parents were coming into town next week to have dinner with Liam, and they would of course expect to have Rory come along. His mother adored Rory to the point where Liam wondered if she wasn’t having a cougar moment over his friend.
Great. Both he and his mother wanted to have sex with the same man.
Liam stumbled over to one of the padded lounge chairs and took a seat. Lying back, he stared up at the slowly lightening sky and wondered how the fuck he could fix this.

The sound of birds woke Liam, and he groaned at the harsh light shining on his lids. Right now he didn’t give a fuck what had happened last night, he just wanted his bed. By the time he reached his apartment, his head throbbed and his mouth tasted terrible, like he’d eaten kitty litter before he passed out.
After making his unsteady way downstairs, he opened the door to their apartment as quietly as he could, but he shouldn’t have bothered. They had a dry-erase board next to the front door where they would leave each other messages. There was a note from Rory.
Liam, I’ll be back after lunch. We need to talk. Please don’t do anything crazy until I get back. You’re still my best mate.
Wondering what the other man meant by crazy, he was still relieved to see Rory wasn’t freaking out. Shit, he was handling this better than Liam was. Not surprising, really. Rory was always full of stories about the barmy, kinky stuff he’d done back in London. Liam had always dismissed it as boasting, but shit, maybe Rory hadn’t been lying about his sexual adventures.
Maybe Liam had just been too naive to see the truth of the other man’s words.
He tried to imagine some of the more outlandish tales of debauchery that Rory had told him, tried to really think about what his friend had said. Could Rory really have gone to a sex club on his eighteenth birthday and had an orgy with four women? When Liam had called him a liar, Rory had merely shrugged and given him a small smile instead of protesting. At the time, Liam had dismissed it as Rory just trying to one-up Liam’s tale about making out with two drunk girls at a party, but now he couldn’t help but wonder if he’d been the one who was wrong. That Rory had indeed experienced all that kinky sex and Liam had just been too sheltered to see the truth in his friend’s words.
Liam slouched down the hall to his room, mentally and emotionally exhausted. After washing up, brushing his teeth, and downing a couple of aspirin with a big glass of water, he fell into his bed with a low sigh.
