Crissy, I sleep
alone, and I don’t fucking appreciate it when some chick jimmy’s the lock so
she can sneak in and slip into bed with me. It reeks of desperation.”
I opened the door to step out just as a vase of flowers
smashed into the wall next to me. Spinning around I nailed her with a cold
glare, barely controlling my fury. She stepped back in alarm, holding her
clothes up as a shield. I took one step toward her, being careful where I
stepped because I was barefoot.
“Don’t fucking ever throw anything at me again.” I
snarled.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She apologized hurriedly,
looking apprehensive. “You are being such an asshole though.”
I pointed a finger at her. “You came in here uninvited.
I told you I wasn’t interested in sex, but you insisted. You’ve known from the
beginning all I do is casual, but I can see the calculation in yours eyes
telling me you’ve always wanted more. So don’t get pissed off at me when all I
say is the truth.”
Crissy’s lips pursed. “Whatever.” I shook my head at
her comeback. “You know you’ll come back to me for more.” She derided.
My expression was hard. “Don’t count on it; I think we’ve
reached our conclusion.” Turning to go I saw Crissy’s frustration. The girl had
been crazy delusional, but she wasn’t the first girl sniffing around me for my
families money.
I found my sandals downstairs by the pool. The staff
Tommy had hired was already hard at work at ten-thirty this morning cleaning up
after our three days of partying. His parent’s had been gone for the entire
week and were scheduled to return later today.
That meant party over and it was time for me to go.
Fifteen minutes later I was steering down my driveway
and parking my car in the garage. My parents were home this morning and they
hated it when I didn’t store the car. I didn’t know what my plans were for the
day yet anyway.
Knowing the parental’s would be greatly displeased if I
headed to my bedroom without first saying ‘hey’, especially since I hadn’t seen
them in four days, I headed for the East sun room…a room that brought up some
interesting memories of sweetly swinging hips.
On the way I found myself eyeballing rooms to see if she was around today.
“Look who the cat dragged in.” My father announced as I
stepped in the room. He was sitting on the settee with the news on, while at
the same time readings some papers. He lowered them and gave me an amused
raised eyebrow.
My father was nearing fifty, but kept himself in good
shape. He had hazel eyes like mine, and while his hair was brown, with random
gray hairs, mine was a dirty blonde. He stood at six feet, and I was an inch
taller at six-one.
I sat down in the chair off to the side of him. “And it
was a really big cat.” I mumbled tiredly, my head falling back.
He snorted. “Partied a little too hard this week, did
you?”
“Something like that.” I answered vaguely. Anger
weighed heavily in my gut at Crissy’s actions, and what I’d ultimately allowed
to ensue because of my anger, but I wasn’t going to go into the details. “What
are you going over?”
He tossed the papers on the table in front of him.
“Just monthly reports on the electrical plant.” My dad worked ungodly hours,
hours that had taken up a lot of his family time, but he was a great dad.
I grinned. “We still in the black?”
“The deepest and darkest.” He grinned back.
“Cool. It’s good to know we’re still going to have some
food on the table.”
“Well, at least for another month.” He quipped.
My mother walked into the room with a frown. “Landon,
where have you been? I was nearly ready to call the police and the hospitals.”
I inwardly rolled my eyes, while I
