his eyes drink in every detail of her body.
She rose back up as the song ended, running her fingers through her hair. Before she realized what was happening, the mask slipped free and fluttered to the ground before her at the same moment the lights went down.
She held her breath. Shit, did he see?
Her eyes adjusted and she caught sight of him, on his feet, trembling in fury. Grabbing her clothing, she rushed backstage, terrified. He saw! Oh, shit, shit, shit! Fuck, he’s going to kill me!
She got dressed backstage and begged Miranda to drive her home quickly. Maybe if she could get back before him and get in bed he’d think he imagined the whole thing. Her heart slammed, and Miranda seemed panicked.
“What happened out there?” her friend asked as they hurried out the back door, the bouncer a step behind.
    “Daddy was in the audience!”
“Shit. And you took your mask off?”
“It fell off!” They got in the car and Miranda turned the engine over and stomped the gas.
“It was nice knowing you,” Miranda said, hazarding a glance over at Julia, who glared at her.
“Thanks. Are you going to hit every fucking red light on the way?” She gripped the door handle so hard her hand and arm hurt, her heart slammed in her ears, terror lapped at her.
“ Yep. And just out of curiosity, when did you notice him?”
    “Second verse.”
“Right about when your dance went from amateur to molten?”
“Shut up, Mir. I’m in so much trouble, you have no idea. He looked like he wanted to choke me. Do me a favor, please don’t call me. I’ll call you when I’m not grounded anymore.”
“God, he hates me. Makes him so much sexier.” Miranda pulled up next to the curb of Julia’s house. “Good luck!” As soon as the door shut, she raced off, and Julia sprinted inside. Opening the door, she halted.
    “Daddy, I can explain-“
Daddy held up a hand, and she realized something wasn’t right. Adam and Kyle stood beside her father, and all three had crossed arms and angry faces.
“You don’t need to explain.” Daddy’s voice was darker, angrier than she’d ever heard it before. “You want to be objectified? Used for men’s pleasure?” He advanced on her, and she backed against the door.
“It’s not like that, Daddy.” Despite her protest, a dampness invaded the delicate folds between her thighs.
“You watched me the whole time, baby girl. Why?”
“I, uh-“ She pressed her back firmly to the door as he leaned in close, his lips flush with her ear.
“You wanted to tease me, me and everyone else there. Well, Adam, Kyle and I are going to show you what it is to be objectified.” He grabbed her shoulders and dragged her toward the stairs.
“Daddy, what are you-“ A sharp crack across her ass elicited a startled gasp from her lips, and a surge of traitorous fluid between her thighs. Rubbing the stinging handprint, she climbed the stairs without another word, fear welling up in her breast.
She made her way down the hall toward her room, but Daddy grabbed her arm and guided her into his. He and his friends sat on the bed, staring at her.
    “Dance,” daddy said.
    “But Daddy…”
“Come here.” His sharp words left no room for argument, and she crossed the room to him. He grabbed her, bent her over his knees and pulled down her pants and panties. She whimpered.
The crack of his hand on her ass and the flash of pain forced a squeal from her lips, but he struck again, again, again, each stinging slap earning a wince, though she bit down on her lip to stop herself from crying out any more.
He shoved her off his lap and she teetered, catching her balance. With trembling hands, she lifted her pants and underwear.
“ Dance .” The command rolled off his tongue, and she did as she was told this time. Embarrassed, she rocked her hips, moving in time to music only in her head. Their eyes burned into her, and she ignored the excitement building in her.
“ Strip .” Again, the word was a
