briefly that they were wrongfully accusing her father for something, but by his past and most recent behavior, they weren’t lying, Mitchell Landry was.
“Well, it is too late now, you disturbed my solitude.” As much as he wanted her to leave, he wanted her to stay more.
“I told you I could walk back or maybe hitchhike. The people seem nice here.” He tilted his head and narrowed his eyes at her in disbelief and fury. He placed the can he was about to put away on the counter. She had not seen the full force of his anger, but she was going to get a good dose of it right now. He stormed right up to her, which left her trapped with her butt at the arm of the couch, nearly tipping over backwards. He was so close she could feel his breath as he breathed deeply in frustration, causing her to squeeze her thighs together to fight the immediate need for relief. “You are not leaving. It is not safe out there. It is fucking cold if you haven’t noticed, and it is too fucking dangerous for a sexy ass woman to be roaming the road looking for a ride.” He thought she was sexy. She nearly melted from his words. “I promise you, if you try that shit, I will bring your ass back and spank the shit out of you, little girl. If you want to try me, be my guest.” He was barely holding back the desire to kiss and throttle her at the same time. To fight her attraction to him she lashed back out at him, pushing her body forward, no longer cowering. The problem was that she had brought her body closer to his.
“I am not your guest. I seem to be a nuisance. Well, you don’t want me here and you don’t want me to leave. What the fuck am I supposed to do, just magically disappear?” She had a lot of sass and gave it to her host. Rose acted out the ‘poof’ disappearing act that instead of annoying him had turned him on, testing his control.
“You are smart all right, a real smart ass. Little girl, I could give you a lesson on how not to test a man, or I might just take what your father was offering to me, right now.” He ran his hand gently down her cheek with his large warm strong hands caressing her with intent. She breathed in his scent that was so tempting with him so close, attempting to control her reaction and not turn into his caress. Finally she forced herself to push away when his delicious threat penetrated her desire induced fog in her brain.
“He didn’t offer me to you. I must have gotten the coordinates wrong.” She was afraid and turned on at the same time. His touch only added to her attraction to Spencer Kane.
“Honey, those coordinates in the GPS are not even remotely close to your cousin’s home. I know, because he is the only Landry relative I could tolerate until tonight. What were you doing going to your cousin’s house this time of the year anyway? He isn’t even there. He goes somewhere warm for the holidays. It is less than a week until Christmas.”
“My dad called me two days ago with a change in holiday plans. Instead of coming home for the holidays, I should go see Reed and he would be expecting me. He said it was all set up and Reed would take care of me.” He could tell in her words that she was sincere.
“Where were you that you had to come home for the holidays?” He was hoping to hell she was not with some guy. He might have to go find a motherfucker to kill. Why was he feeling like this , he thought.
“I am in my first semester at UNE. I know Reed should be waiting for me. He is probably getting scared that I have not shown up yet.” She was feeling anxious. Next to her was the most handsome man she had ever seen. He was at least six foot three and a solid wall of muscles that couldn’t be hidden through his cardigan. He was so much hotter than her boyfriend, Rick. Spencer had brown hair and green eyes that were brightened by the anger she and her father apparently evoked in him, and by the size of the bulge in his pants he was extremely well endowed. That was another reason
