the way down the hallway to Jessika's bedroom, I knocked loudly on the door. I didn't quite know what I meant to do by doing that, but it gave Lucent pause. Oh, yes, he stopped alright.
I stuck my tongue out at him and made a silly face. He glowered, hiding his curious and amused smirk. I thought he liked this game just as much as I did. It was a competitive match, and this was my current play; he just needed to figure out what his next move was.
I kind of needed to figure out mine, too. I wasn't sure what I'd planned on doing when I first knocked, but now I was out of ideas.
Lucent came up beside me, grabbed my hips, and squeezed me close to him. "You're not safe yet, Miss Tanner. Don't think I'll give up my pursuit so easily."
I stood up on tiptoes and kissed him. I kissed him hard and fast, lips pressed tight to his. My hands wrapped around his neck, fingers twining in his hair. He seemed shocked at first, then more than agreeable. He kissed me back, pulled me close, and...
"Yes?" someone called out from inside the bedroom; it was Asher. "Is everything alright?"
Whoops. Er...
Lucent and I reluctantly separated. He looked at me like I should be the one to answer, but I looked back at him, sheepish, and shrugged. He rolled his eyes at me.
"This was your doing, Miss Tanner," he whispered.
"I know!" I said, hushed. "But I don't know what to say now. Can you say something instead?"
He licked my nose. Really, now! Really. This wasn't the time for that, Lucent. I scowled at him, and then I licked him back. He grinned, then turned away from me, speaking towards the bedroom door.
"I don't wish to intrude on your morning, Mr. Landseer," Lucent said, "but I believe it would be most prudent if we discussed our current situation. I would like to leave this place sooner rather than later. I hardly wish to rush matters, but I think you'll agree with me that time is currently of the essence."
As a finishing point to his statement, Lucent reached back and squeezed my butt. His hands rested tight on my curves, pulling me against him. He held me like that, forcing my body to grind against his, my core tight against the pent up energy hidden behind the crotch of his pants. I shifted a little, pushing against him even more. My hands moved from his neck, down his back, towards his butt, and I squeezed him there, too. A butt for a butt, right? A squeeze for a squeeze? I was fairly certain this was how that worked.
I had a sudden idea, too. Oh, this was good. Not at all related to Lucent's butt, unfortunately, but I liked the idea nonetheless. "Do you have any food here?" I asked, speaking to Asher and Jessika. "We could all have breakfast together. Wouldn't that be nice?"
Lucent glanced at me oddly. "Miss Tanner, I don't think we're going to have time to sit down and eat an appropriate breakfast. Something simple and expedited, perhaps, but—"
"Quick," I said. "Something simple and quick. No one eats an expedited breakfast, Lucent."
Oh, this was either the perfect thing to say, or a very bad one. He squeezed me even tighter, picking me up off the ground slightly as he did, making me stand on tiptoes or risk falling down.
"I am absolutely certain that people eat expedited breakfasts," he said. "There's no need for your nitpicking."
His fervid gaze said everything else I needed to know. This wasn't about breakfast or nitpicking or any of that. No, not at all. This was a hunger of a different sort, and since I'd denied him earlier, he was making it clear that he'd take what he could get. That's how I thought this was going, at least.
"I don't know why you're being mean to me," I said, biting my bottom lip.
"I'm not being mean to you," he said, biting my lip back, pulling it from my mouth with his teeth.
"You are," I said. "A little bit." And I pouted at him, trying to look coy and demure. "I thought you were nicer last night, but
