office, Hayley took a peek from behind her hiding place at the desk. There was a group of men, big, beefy and masked, moving into the front area of the office. The receptionist was hiding under the desk, crying loudly as the men grabbed her and pulled her out of her hiding place. The leader was wearing a clown mask, and grabbed the receptionist by her hair, hoisting her up and looking at the rest of the people in the area.
“Listen up, everyone! We’re locking this building down and taking you all hostage. Nobody do anything stupid! We’ll kill anyone who tries to be a hero.”
Terrified, Hayley dropped back behind the desk. She started crying quietly, covering her mouth so nobody hears her. She cursed herself under her breath for volunteering to do this interview. She had a feeling that morning that something was going to go wrong…but she never could have predicted that the day would go this wrong.

CHAPTER 3

The clown-masked intruder smashed a glass desk near the reception area. He smiled.
“I think this little lady will be the first to go if you guys don’t behave. We’d like a word with your boss, Gregory. Anybody seen him? He owes us a lot of money and we’re gonna get it one way or another,” he yelled with a sneer.
Hayley couldn’t believe her luck. This was insane, this was completely and utterly insane, and she had no clue what she could do to help with this situation. She just hoped that someone would come fast, that the police would be able to save them.
Then, she saw it, a masked superhero running off the elevator and moving towards the criminals. The gunman that was holding the receptionist’s hair got his rifle ready, but the masked superhero was soon on top of the criminal, kicking him square in the chest. The clown-masked criminal slumped unconscious when the hero smashed a fist into his skull. Hayley watched with wide eyes, shocked at the sheer nature of the scene in front of her.
The Masked superhero was tall, muscular, and wearing a skintight leather combat suit. He wielded two metal clubs and held them up ferociously in front of the rest of the criminals. Hayley thought to herself, was this really going to play out like how it did in the movies? She could only hope so. All of the remaining criminals pointed their guns at the hero.
One by one in rapid succession, the masked superhero dispatched the criminals, slamming their heads together, moving away from knife slashes, and dodging gunshots and punches. One criminal remained and started to fire shotgun blasts in the direction of the hero
“Die you bastard!” he screamed out, unloading a whole slew of rounds.
The superhero dodged them all perfectly, punching the man in the chest, and then in the face. Hayley couldn’t believe her eyes. This man was a true warrior.
Finally, the criminals were all incapacitated. Hayley stands up from behind her desk. The hero saw her and walked over to her. Hayley rubbed her arm nervously and avoids the hero’s eyes. She didn’t know what to say.
“Are you all right miss?” he asked her.
Hayley nodded, pulling herself back to reality. This was like something in a comic book, except this was happening in real life. Who was this man? Where did he come from?
“I’m fine. Thank you for asking,” she simply said.
She looked up and down his body. He was very ripped, with bulging muscles that were highlighted in the tight combat suit. She couldn’t believe that this was happening. And where the hell was Gregory? Did he escape to safety? Was he hiding somewhere? Hayley had heard that a lot of rich men had panic rooms that they could escape to and lock themselves inside in case of emergencies. Hayley found herself growing angry again that Gregory abandoned her so she switched her focus back to the hero.
“Who are you?” she simply asked.
The man didn’t answer, but Hayley kept pressing.
“Can you do an interview for me? These people, the city, we all owe you our thanks. People
