the chair. “That’s it. Fuck me hard.”
“Mmmm, Shane.” She arches off her bed and buries the silicon rod as far as it’ll go. Her body is convulsing as Shane begins his familiar grunt.
“Oh, you’re so good, Lila.” A few drops of clear come spurt pathetically on his belly.
I can’t keep quiet anymore. “Lila?”
Shane jumps from the chair and tries to cover himself as if I didn’t just watch him Skype sex with his ex.
“Amy, what are you doing here?” He slams down the lid of his laptop and reaches for the shorts that are still wrapped around his ankles.
“ I fucking live here!” I push his shoulder as he’s fumbling with his boxers. “How long has this been going on?”
“What?” He slows his movements and reaches for a t-shirt. “You mean that video? You know I watch porn sometimes.”
My mouth drops as my fists clench. I’ve never thrown a punch in my life but I really want to right now. “That was not porn, Shane.”
“What are you talking about? Of course it was.” He looks to the box in my hand. “Oh, you brought donuts?”
“Are you kidding me?” I can feel the tears running down my face but they are more from anger than sadness. “That was your fucking ex-girlfriend you were fucking in my house.”
“Baby, relax.” He reaches out to me with both arms. “It’s not like I was cheating. It’s just a video.”
“Fuck you, Shane.” I throw the Creamy’s box at his computer and turn to leave. “Get your shit out of here by the end of the day.”
“I’m sorry, babe.” He reaches for me again but I swing my forearms out to avoid his grasp. “Fine. Be like that. But this is my apartment. I think you’re blowing this way out of proportion but if you feel like you need to leave then…I’ll miss you.”
The bastard turns away and walks back to his desk.
I stomp across the living room into our bedroom. His bedroom, apparently. I have a banged up suitcase in the closet so I start loading it with my favorite clothes. My daily uniform is a pair of jeans and a solid tunic. Nothing fancy. But I have a few cute dresses and nicer shirts I toss in. If I’m going to be job hunting, I need interview clothes.
When the suitcase is full, I find the largest purse I have and stuff it with shoes and underwear. How did this day go so wrong?
After taking as many bags of stuff as I can down to my ’89 Camry, I call my best friend. Gabi picks up on the first ring.
“Hi, Aims. What’ s up?” She works for a car dealership and promised to help me get a good deal once I save up some more cash. Looks like that plan is shot.
“I lost…” I can’t even get the words out. The body wracking sobs are so intense I have to pull into a 7-Eleven parking lot just to collect myself. Tears are flowing down my neck and I can’t quite catch my breath. “M-M-Ming left…and Shane…”
“Wait, what?” Gabi shushes people around her. “Sorry, everyone is talking in here. What happened?”
I take a few deep breaths and focus on a squirrel running across the parking lot. “Ming closed the salon. I just found out this morning.”
“Oh, my god, Aims. I’m so sorry.”
“That’s not even the worst part.” My voice is shaky but I don’t want to cry over that asshole anymore. He doesn’t deserve my tears. “I went home and found Shane cyberfucking Lila.”
“Lila?” She’s quiet for a moment but I can’t find the words to help her. “Oh, Lila. His ex?”
    “Um hmm.”
“What does cyberfucking mean? Like sexting?”
“I wish.” Those images will be burned into my brain forever. “But no. More like her ramming a giant dildo up her cunt on Skype while he jacked off and they pretended to be together. It was disgusting.”
“You watched that?” I couldn’t tell if she was aroused or grossed out.
“I didn’t mean to. I walked in and they were doing it.” I bark out a laugh. “And get this. He actually tried to tell me he was just watching a porno. Like I’m stupid or
