was plenty to do at the barn after he fed, so he decided on a plan for the day.
Pouring a cup of coffee, Drew tried to get his mind off Shay. She still wouldn’t go away. It wasn’t that he pined for her or still wanted her. It was the fact that she had fooled him so well and effortlessly. How could a woman have that much control over him? He did have to smile when he thought of her current location. Yeah, he was sure she wasn’t having a real good time in the Woodman State Jail, located in Gatesville. Yep, he hoped she would rot there.
Drew continued to sip his coffee and went out on the back porch and sat in his chair to watch the blaze of the rising sun. His thoughts had him beginning to chuckle. He could almost see Shay in an orange jumpsuit bitching about it. She really hated the color orange.

After finishing up the feeding, Drew headed to the barn. The stalls for the few horses they owned needed to be mucked, and one stall needed to be repaired where Ginny had kicked a hole in it. She was a sweet horse, but hell on stalls.
When Drew walked into the barn, Chief, his Palomino, was out and looking at him with a blank expression. “I bet you think you’re pretty smart, don’t you?” Drew said while walking up to pat Chief on the neck. Chief threw his head up and down like he was agreeing, but actually he was just impatient for feed.
“All right, I’ll get your feed and maybe a different type of lock for your stall door while I’m at it.” Drew smiled and opened the door to the feed room. Chief whinnied behind him, following close. Drew came out with a bucket of oats, and Chief promptly went back into his stall to wait.
“Just what am I supposed to do with you?” Drew asked while rubbing Chief’s head while he ate.

Liv stood in the doorway watching the hottest cowboy she had ever seen talking to a horse and scratching its head. It was cute. Normally she wasn’t attracted to cowboys but today, oh yeah, she was. The man radiated power with his strong, muscular arms, broad shoulders, and thick, muscled thighs. She licked her lips and thought about where she’d like to explore with her tongue. It felt like the temperature shot up twenty degrees in seconds while her eyes roamed. She loved his profile. He had a strong square jaw, deep-set eyes, dark hair peeking out from under his hat, and sun-kissed skin. After a few minutes of watching, Liv felt she needed to at least introduce herself, but she hated for her show to end. She watched him bend over to pick up a square bale of hay and begin tossing sections into each stall. She wanted to groan while watching him work in his tight denim jeans. Maybe he’d take off his shirt so she could see what she knew was underneath. Mmm, she purred softly to herself and felt her panties become wet thinking of what else might have lain under denim. If his body so far was any indication of size, she was sure that beneath his jeans he was thick and long. Yeah, and he’d sure as hell know how to use it, too. Her heart thumped and thumped. With trembling fingers, she wiped the small beads of sweat that had collected on her chest. Mercy, she thought and kept watching.
The cowboy turned and seemed to catch a movement in his peripheral vision. He stopped and looked toward the door. Dropping the rest of the bale of the hay, he began to slowly walk toward her as she stood in the doorway. He seemed to clench his jaw, gritting his teeth, as he looked at her, and she looked down and noticed he had an erection.
“Can I help you?” he asked, squinting in the afternoon sun that blazed into his face.
Liv stepped into the barn further and extended her hand. “I sure hope so. I’m Liv.” Her breath caught when she looked at his face. His sapphire eyes were highlighted by the sun. Gorgeous, the man was absolutely gorgeous. That was going to make her assignment so much harder.
The cowboy shook her hand with a firm grip. His engaging blue eyes
