around and watched Daniel walk towards me. “You left your handbag” he said. Our hands touched as he gave it me back,
    “Thank you” I replied.
“Just a question, would you like to have lunch with me? He asked me.
The thought of him inside me was making me wet, he interrupted my thoughts,
    “Well?”,
“I am sorry I can’t at the moment as I am a little too busy” I said.
“Maybe another time then?” he said looking at me.
    “Thanks again for my bag”.

I walked out the building and a high pitched shrill came from my purse, I took out my phone and answered,
    “White”, it was my mom
“Are you ok honey?, how was the appointment?”, her voice soothing to my ears.
“Hi mom, yeah I'm ok, hopefully I’ll get a call tomorrow for the new vets”,
“Well done honey, you free later on for dinner?, Owen is on duty  he gets back around 12”.
“Yeah I’m free, what time do you want me to pick you up”, whilst walking down the street towards the parking lot, the sunlight shining through the white clouds that reminded me of candy floss.
    “Around 5...I’ll be waiting”,
“Ok mum, I love you. I hung up and replaced the phone back into my pocket.

Chapter Three

After my parents divorced, my mother had spent two weeks on a Caribbean cruise where she met Owen, a tall man with the black hair that reminded me of treacle, mom had never been so happy. To give Owen his due, he is a Sergeant with The California Highway Patrol which meant every time I travelled on the 101 from San Francisco back to San Jose he always waved at my Evoque, reminding me of watching C.H.I.P.S on a Saturday morning.
Parking my car outside the gates that led to my house I walked into the pedestrian gate that lay at the side of the main gates and my phone began to ring, I pulled it out and answered it.
“White”. I heard a worried voice come back, it was Lisha, I could hear the panicky feeling.
“What's a matter?” my voice becoming concerned.
“ Could you get to work as soon as possible?” her voice gave away the fact that she was starting to stress out.
“Alright don’t worry and stop panicking would you” I hung up and got into my car.
Heading back the opposite way, I eased into mid morning traffic on the I5 , I felt my phone buzz, it was the info I was expecting. A clients female dog was experiencing a breach birth, she was having difficulty delivering her litter. In extreme cases a Caesarean section was needed, and knowing what I was heading towards it would be the case. Coming around the bend I could see the parking lot that was outside the vets, it was empty apart from the emergency ambulance that we had just in case. I pulled my car in and parked.

Running into the lightly colored reception I could see Lisha waiting by the desk her face looking concerned.
“Shall we?”, Lisha asked we walked to scrub up and change into our surgical gowns.

The room always had a smell of disinfectant, it’s tiled floors and walls kept clean by one of the interns from UCLA. The doors to the operating room lay before us as Lisha pushed them open with her arm with  the dog laid on the table it had been sedated and was hooked up to a heart rate monitor, Lisha took up her position and started to regulate the anesthetic. I started the operation with ease, with Lisha monitoring her vitals and keeping an eye on the heart monitor. My face dropped as I removed puppy after puppy and Lisha had the same look on her face.
“You have got to be kidding me”, as I handed a puppy over to Lisha
“Are they what I think they are?”, the question being really obvious.
“God damn Rottweilers.. for fuck's sake...they would of ripped her apart”, as the last of  the puppies appeared, I began to suture the dog up and Lisha began to bring her around with Atipamazole, the dog beginning to open her eyes. Lisha took her and the puppies into the recovery room with a heat lamp placed above them.
Lisha came back into the room as
